This morning I was invited to speak briefly at a meet-up of civic-minded women from our community, the Republican Women of California, El Cajon Valley chapter.  It was great to see the efficiency of this cohesive gathering of women, each bringing their own experience, passion, and perspectives to the meeting and our local political arena.  It was well-run and brief, so these respected women could get on with the important work of their varied days.  One thing that struck me, while it was on a Tuesday morning after most kids were in school, was the need for more young people aware and engaged in our community.  It made me wish I had brought my daughters, and spurns me to invite other homeschooling families to pass on their family values by participating in events such as this.
