I had an interesting conversation today about the role of governance as it relates to the constituent services I am tasked to provide as a representative of our community, even though I am not yet an elected representative.  I was cautioned about following up with constituents on issues that might at some point come to a vote before our board, but to me the thought of not following up seems to be a dereliction of my duties.  In my mind, it is my job to help each stakeholder who comes to me for help or answers, whether that be a parent, teacher, or community member, and continue to provide support until answers are found, even if it's not necessarily the desired solution.  Resolution is the key.  I see my role as continuing the pursuit until resolution is accomplished.
