Community Roots and Commitment

I have lived in El Cajon for over 30 years of my life and feel pretty well-connected.  But both my position on the school board and this campaign cycle have brought me into contact and partnership with even more people.  Two days ago I interviewed with San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce, and was happy to share my passion for our students, families, and community.  It is an honor to receive their official endorsement, but not without growth on my part.  I made a tongue-in-cheek comment that I realized upon later reflection came across the wrong way.  Lesson learned: be personable, but professional.  I have so much to learn and am grateful for the opportunity to grow into this role!
