I love the trivia at the San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce's First Friday Breakfasts!  But I also won the game for World Smile Day and got to share about my position on the Governing Board and offer myself as a resource for the community.  I was surprised to have almost 10 people come up to me afterwards wanting to introduce themselves.  Most had questions about how to get connected with the district to offer services, but my favorite was Guy Gonzales of the International Academy of Jazz, San Diego, about how an after-school jazz club could benefit our students and community.  We were only brainstorming, but it reminded me just how essential our community members are to our students and families and how passion can be so contagious!
