Ethics for School Board Members

I finished the Keenan HR trainings, and this year the trustees had to take a state-mandated two-hour course on Ethics for School Board Members.  The information mostly covered FPPC regulations, but it was a reminder that being a person of excellence is always the right thing.  Even more, it should come from inner conscience - we shouldn't have to be asked.  Although we connect and seek out input from our stakeholders, it's equally important that we have a strong sense of conviction.  It's that deep belief in right and wrong that makes me willing to make the ethical choice even when it's hard or unpopular.  I appreciate your investment in our system and the accountability that open meetings bring to our school board.
